I had a fairly large tattoo on the back of my neck. I got it when I was young and have become really self-conscious of it in the last few years. I consulted a doctor about my options and he suggested laser tattoo removal. I finished my fifth session about 6 months ago and the tattoo is completely gone. I have gained so much self-confidence out of this. I am so glad that I finally got rid of it.

I have recently started the removal of a medium sized all black tattoo on my upper back. I recently decided it was no longer a part of my life style or a representation of who I am anymore. The doctors office I'm going to uses the revlite nd yag q switched laser. I have only had one treatment so far and it been only one week but I can already see the shading disappearing almost completely and other darker areas really lightening up. The doctor gave me some prescription pain medicine, the numbing cream. The procedure was over in less than 2 minutes and that's with him going over it twice! The pain is bearable but does hurt, on the bright side its over quickly. After the treatment the area was bandaged and I iced it for the first day. I had no blistering just some pin point bleeding. I just use ointment now to keep it clean. So far I'm happy with the results hopefully it keeps up.

I’ve decided to redo my back piece and so parts of it had to be taken out. I had it done a couple of years ago. I made an appointment at this clinic and the doctor told me I may need to have several treatments before reaching the best results. The procedure wasn’t really painful, maybe just a little bit uncomfortable. I got a mild pain reliever before the treatment, so I was fine. The laser tattoo removal treatment felt something like getting a tattoo, or a rubberband snapping on my skin. After the first two sessions, I noticed the colors faded almost completely, which was really amazing. Highly recommend it!

If your reading this I'd imagine your thinking about removing some unwanted ink. I am currently removing 3 tattoos, a very large piece on the forearm, barbwire band on the bicep and a skull on the lower leg. I've had 3 treatments and each tat has faded at different levels. Barbwire is nearly gone, skull has faded pretty good but the armpiece needs many more treatments because it has much more ink than the other tattoos. All of the tattoos were done in black ink which appears to be a plus. I read another review of someone that went to the kovak institute and said they have the best laser.... The candela is good for colored inks but not black... I went to the kovak institute and he quoted me 600 for just my arm piece. Talk about trying to stick it to someone. Then I found The rittica center in Vernon hills, it's about an hour drive but I figured I'd check it out because 600 for one piece... Forget about it. Very nice place, and they use the revlite laser by hoya conbio which everyone seems to say that laser is the so called ( gold standard in tattoo removal) anyways he quoted me 450 for all 3 tats. I don't use any numbing cream because I don't want to wait around an hour for it to take effect and the local injections, I read a couple of things on the Internet that it doesn't allow the laser to penetrate as good as it would without it. Don't know if it's true but I ll take some pain for better performance.. No pain no gain right? The one on my leg hurts.. Well they all hurt but the one on my leg seems to pull me out of the chair. It's tolerable ... It's fast .. I've done 3 with no numbing and I'm removing a lot of ink. It's no fun... It takes a while.. I wait 2 months in between treatments... And it's expensive ... But like the title states..... It is what it is. If you are in the Chicagoland area it's worth checking this place out. Good luck to anyone going through the same wonderful experience that I'm going through.. Lol

I got a tattoo on my arm about three years ago, hand prints with my kids' names above them. Even though I wrote out the names of my children and the guy had it in front of him the whole time, he misspelled my sons name. I had to get it removed because there was no way to cover up his mistake (i also removed my daughters name because it seemed wrong to have one without the other). It was pretty painful, but I guess it seemed to be only slightly more painful than getting the tattoo. Luckily, I wasn't the one that had to pay for it. Overall the results are good, but it does take time because you have to wait awhile in between each session.
